One rainy morning, Emma was late for work.
She ran to the bus stop, but a car drove by
and splashed dirty water all over her shoes.
People laughed. She wanted to cry.
At work, her boss looked at her and said,
“Tough morning?” Emma nodded.
Then he smiled and said, “Good. That means
you’re already stronger than yesterday.”
She didn’t know what he meant until later
that week. The same car broke down near
her house. The driver, the same man, stood
in the rain—angry, wet, and cold. Emma
walked over, gavpe him her umbrella,
and said, “Tough evening?”
He laughed. That day, both of them learned
something simple: Rain falls on everyone, but
how you react makes the difference.
